DJ Pullout A Boston, MA native, DJ Pullout has been following his passion for music and honing his talents for more than seventeen years. A turntablist from the old school, he incorporates such techniques as beat juggling, scratching, mixing and mash up, among others, to create a fresh new sound from the music you love. While he was born and raised on old school hip hop, DJ Pullout does not discriminate between genres; he is at home spinning hip hop, top 40, house, breaks, and floor-packing original mixes and mash ups. He has a preternatural ability to know what his crowd wants and deliver with precision, as witnessed by some of the music industry's most critical ears. DJ Pullout and his dedicated following can be found in some of Boston’s most premier nightspots, including Saint, Sanctuary, and Whiskey Park. Beyond Boston, he’s played to thousands home and abroad from Las Vegas to Los Angeles to Miami and New York City. Pullout can be heard on various radio shows including his own on WMFO out of Boston. Ever the perfectionist, Pullout creates an original set list of custom remixes, original productions and hand-picked tracks for each and every gig. He juxtaposes cutting-edge DJ technology with vinyl skills; blends hip hop with house or electro; and is always looking for innovative ways to bring his unique rhythms to the masses. At the end of the day, when the crowds have dispersed and the lights have gone dim, Pullout keeps the beat, always pushing himself harder and striving to bring the future of music to his audience.
In a DJ battle, no one’s faster than Pullout. His lightening-quick ability to pull vinyl, queue tracks and perform without missing a beat (literally) earned him his dj moniker early on in his career, when vinyl was the essential tool in a dj’s arsenal. With the advent of such technological advances as Serato and CD decks, to name a few, crates of vinyl are seldom, if ever, seen out at the clubs. Pullout is a dj immersed in the now, but will always remember the feel of those ridges and valleys on a slick black LP as he “pulled out” and mixed a record faster than any dj out there, always hearing their sound fade like an afterthought.
