DJ Chris Roxstar started as a DJ in 1992 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He met some local DJs who took him under their wing and began to teach him the fundamentals of being a DJ. To their surprise, Chris Roxstar caught on rather quickly by practicing day and night on the one and two‘s. In three months, he began to trek out into the real world and try his chance at being a professional DJ by playing Hip-Hop and R&B. Growing up in California, his father influenced him by listening to Classical and Opera music. He also played the piano for about 10 years and sang in the school choir. Besides his father, he was also influenced by his wife who has supported him from day one and told him never to give up. Since 1992 to now he has had the privilege of spinning with both National and International DJ’s such as Richard Vission, DJ Dan, DJ Irene, Pharcyde, Mix Master Mike, the WARP Brothers and many others. He joined with Ross from Bayraves in 2002 in Hayward, California where he got the opportunity to play on KCRH 89.9fm radio where he played Electronica music. He also deejayed at Cyberfest and Planet New Year in San Francisco, California for a couple of years before moving to Hawaii once again. There he met with one of his mentors who asked to join him in teaching teenagers how to DJ. He also spun at many nightclubs such as Maharaja, Scruples, World Café, Pink Cadillac, Ocean’s Nightclub and many others. He was picked up by NY HitMen and now is selling his mixes online. Living in Las Vegas for the past 2 years has brought a lot of opportunities such as deejaying at private parties, hookah lounges and many appearances at numerous nightclubs.
